Ashley & Colette's spring wedding.
Ashley & Colette married at St Laurences Church in Alvechurch and celebrated at the gorgeous Gorcott Hall in Redditch. It was a beautiful spring day with plenty of sunshine to enjoy Gorcott Hall's gardens. After meeting at college 9 years ago Ashley proposed in style while they were away on his parents boat.
When it came to choosing her wedding dress Colette tells me:
I went dress shopping with my mum and chief bridesmaid Emma after trying on a few dresses i chose the first one i tried on, that was the winning dress.
Ashley used to do some work at Gorcott Hall and always loved the place, when i first went to visit i loved it to, it was the only place we saw and knew that we wanted our wedding there.
Gorcott Hall is a stunning venue with beautiful grounds. The little lake is ideal for photos later on in the day when the sun is lower giving a gorgeous orange glow.
I asked Colette which photos she particularly liked, it was great to read her reply:
I love the natural shots of people and them arriving at the church, i love the ones of us by the lake and ofcourse the ones of the boys.
And her advice for any brides planning their big day:My advice to anyone planning their wedding is to just enjoy it, and not to get worried about all the details, it all comes together in the end.
There was a special speech from Joshua which had the whole room smiling and in tears at the same time.
and no wonder:
You look so pretty Mummy and Daddy you look handsome too.
What a lovely day this is for us and the both of you.
Today you were married and we wanted to say, we are so excited to be part of your big day.
You know we love you Mummy and Daddy, you know that from the start,
And today on this special day love comes straight from the heart.
Colette couldn't choose her favourite part of the day but said:
I cant pick a best time of the day as i loved every minute of it, although when Joshua did his speech which was a surprise that was amazing and made me so proud.
And the final say on their day goes to Colette:
I would like to thank both our family's for their help and support they have given us and also my mum and Emma (chief bridesmaid) for all the help in putting all the finishing touches together for the day to make it as wonderful as it was.
